The show is created by Austin Winsberg (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Jake in Progress), Eduardo Cisneros (Half Brothers) & Jason Shuman (Darkness Falls, Bangkok Dangerous) inspired by the 2017 feature How to Be a Latin Lover and stars Eugenio Derbez Enrique Arrizon, Fernando Carsa, Camila Perez, Damián Alcázar, Chord Overstreet, Regina Reynoso, Vanessa Bauche, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, Regina Orozco, Rafael Cebrián and Carlos Corona. The comedy is set in 1984 and tells the story of a twenty-something man whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco and soon realizes the job is far more complicated than he ever imagined. Winsberg, Cisneros & Shuman are also executive producing the Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios and The Tannenbaum Company with Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother). Boddie has previously co-scored multiple episodes of the Winsberg-created NBC musical comedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist with Craig Wedren. Acapulco will premiere this Friday, October 8 exclusively on Apple TV+.
