Nathan Whitehead (The Purge, Keanu, Days Gone, The Veil, Stephanie, The Remaining) has composed the original score for the new Netflix animated series Chicago Party Aunt. The show is created by Chris Witaske, Jon Barinholtz & Katie Rich and features the voice talent of Lauren Ash, Rory O’Malley, RuPaul Charles, Jill Talley, Ike Barinholtz, Matthew Craig, Bob Odenkirk, Mike Hagerty, as well as Witaske, Jon Barinholtz & Rich themselves. The animated comedy follows the title character, an idolized troublemaker with a talent for avoiding adulthood — and a soft spot for her soul-searching nephew. Witaske, Jon & Ike Barinholtz and Rich are also exexutive producing the project with Dave Stassen (Central Intelligence), Will Gluck (Easy A, Peter Rabbit), Richie Schwartz (Woke, Sneakerheads) and Titmouse Animation’s Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio & Ben Kalina (The Midnight Gospel), as well as showrunner Matthew Craig. Chicago Party Aunt will premiere this Friday, September 17 exclusively on Netflix.
Whitehead’s recent projects also include the drama This Is the Night written and directed by James DeMonaco and starring Frank Grillo, Bobby Cannavale, Naomi Watts, Method Man, Jonah Hauer-King and Raquel Castro. A release date announcement for the Blumhouse production is expected soon.
