Deadline is reporting that Cinco Paul is writing original songs for the upcoming live-action and stop-motion animated movie musical Winter Wonderland. Paul has also written the screenplay for the film, which will be anchored by the classic holiday song of the same name. Brian Grazer & Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, The DaVinci Code) and Stephanie Sperber (The Astronauts) are producing the project for Imagine Kids+Family, alongside WMG’s Charlie Cohen, President, TV & Film, Warner Music Entertainment, Meredith Milton, as well as Kurt Deutsch, SVP, Theatrical and Catalog, Warner Chappell Music. Paul whose previous screenwriting credits include all Despicable Me films, Horton Hears a Who and The Secret Life of Pets and has contributed original songs to Illumination Entertainment’s Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax and the Apple TV+ series Schmigadoon!, which just premiered last month. No word yet on a production start date for Winter Wonderland.
