Stephanie Economou (Jupiter’s Legacy, Manhunt: Deadly Games, Marvel’s 616) is the composer of the upcoming Netflix original series The Chair. The show is created by Amanda Peet & Annie Wyman and stars Sandra Oh, Jay Duplass, Holland Taylor, Nana Mensah, Bob Balaban, David Morse and Everly Carganilla. The dramedy follows a woman as she navigates her new role as the Chair of the English department at prestigious Pembroke University and is faced with a unique set of challenges as the first woman to chair the department, and as one of the few staff members of color at the university. Peet and Oh are also executive producing the project with David Benioff & D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones), Bernie Caulfield (The Nevers), as well as Daniel Gray Longino who also directed all episodes of the first season. The Chair will premiere on August 20, 2021 on Netflix.
Economou also continues to score Starz’s Step Up: High Water, which will return for a third season.
