Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, Irresistible, The Kitchen) & Aaron Dessner (Transpecos, Big Sur) of the rock band The National have teamed up to score the upcoming drama C’mon C’mon. The film is written and directed by Mike Mills (Beginners, 20th Century Women, Thumbsucker) and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Gaby Hoffman, Woody Norman and Kenneth Kynt Bryan. The movie follows an artist left to take care of his precocious young nephew as they forge an unexpected bond over a cross country trip. Chelsea Barnard (Booksmart), Lila Yacoub (Eighth Grade, Frances Ha) and Andrea Longacre-White are producing the A24 production. C’mon C’mon is expected to premiere later this year.
Bryce & Aaron Dessner have also recently scored Clint Bentley’s Jockey, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for domestic distribution. They have also recently been collaborating on the film adaptation of their stage musical Cyrano. The movie directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice) and starring Peter Dinklage, Haley Bennett, Brian Tyree Henry, Ben Mendelsohn and Kelvin Harrison Jr is set to be released in theaters on December 25, 2021 by MGM/United Artists.
