Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Orson Welles’ 1965 drama Chimes at Midnight (Falstaff) starring the director himself, Jeanne Moureau, Margaret Rutherford, Fernando Rey, John Gielgud and Alan Webb. The 2-CD set features the expanded and remastered original music from the film composed by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino (Lost Continent, An American in New York, Othello, The Naked Maja), including the restored original 1966 soundtrack album on the first disc and the complete score on the second disc. Visit the label’s official website to order the album, which is limited to 500 copies, to check out audio samples and for the full album details. Chimes at Midnight is now available on VOD and (as part of the Criterion Collection) on Blu-ray and DVD.
