Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Miss Juneteenth. The album features the film’s original score composed by Emily Rice (The I-Land). Also included are the songs from the movie by artists such as Curtis Heath, FatDaddy, LJ Echols and Mr. Tip. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 18 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Miss Juneteenth is written and directed by Channing Godfrey Peoples and stars Nicole Beharie, Kendrick Sampson and Alexis Chikaeze. The movie follows a former beauty queen and single mom who prepares her rebellious teenage daughter for the “Miss Juneteenth” pageant. The drama, which premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, was released in select theaters and on VOD last year by Vertical Entertainment, is now also available on DVD and is receiving a theatrical re-release this weekend.
