Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Spanish Princess The Halcyon, Home Fires) is the composer of the new Sky Atlantic original series Domina. The show is created by Simon Burke (The Exception) and stars Kasia Smutniak, Liam Cunningham, Colette Tchantcho, Nadia Parkes, Claire Forlani, Christine Bottomley, Matthew McNulty, Ben Batt and Isabella Rossellini. The 8-part historical drama follows the life and rise of Livia Drusilla from a naïve young girl whose world crumbles in the wake of Julius Caesar’s assassination, to Rome’s most powerful and influential Empress. Claire McCarthy (Ophelia, The Luminaries) serves as the project’s lead director and is also executive producing the Fifty Fathoms, Tiger Aspect and Sky Studios production with Burke, Patrick Spence (Peaky Blinders, The Eddy), Marcus Wilson (Luther, The A Word) and Faye Dorn (Fortitude). Domina will premiere in the UK on May 14 on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
Sim’s other recent projects include Lee Haven Jones’ horror movie The Feast, which premiered last month at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival. The composer also continues to score ITV’s The Bay, which will return for its third and final season this summer.
