Kevin Smith has announced that Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Battlestar Galactica, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Outlander, The Walking Dead) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original series Masters of the Universe: Revelation. The show based on the Mattel franchise and stars Mark Hamill, Lena Headey, Chris Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Liam Cunningham, Stephen Root, Diedrich Bader, Griffin Newman, Tiffany Smith, Henry Rollins, Alan Oppenheimer, Susan Eisenberg, Alicia Silverstone, Justin Long, Jason Mewes, Phil LaMarr, Tony Todd, Cree Summer, Kevin Michael Richardson, Kevin Conroy and Harley Quinn Smith. The series focuses on the unresolved storylines of the iconic characters, picking up where they left off decades ago. Smith (Clerks, Mallrats) serves as the showrunner of the Mattel Television production and is also executive producing the show with Adam Bonnett, Christopher Keenan and Rob David (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe). Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania) is the project’s animation studio. Masters of the Universe: Revelation will premiere later this year on Netflix.
The composer also continues to score Starz’s Outlander, which has been renewed for a sixth season, as well as AMC’s The Walking Dead (with Sam Ewing), which will return for an eleventh and final season.
