Plaza Mayor Company has released a soundtrack album for the French comedy The Big Hit (Un triomphe). The album features the film’s original music composed by Fred Avril (The Lifeguard, I Am Not an Easy Man, Pearl, Sound of Noise). Also included Nina Simone’s song I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. The Big Hit is directed by Emmanuel Courcol and stars Kad Merad, David Ayala, Lamine Cissokho, Pierre Lottin, Wabinlé Nabié, Sofian Khammes, Alexandre Medvedev, Saïd Benchnafa, Marina Hands and Laurent Stocker. The movie follows a past-his-prime actor who attempts to give drama lessons to a group of prisoners preparing a staging of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. The comedy, which was part of the official selection of this year’s Cannes Film Festival and recently received the European Film Award in the comedy category, was originally set to be released in French theaters this holiday season and is currently awaiting a new release date.
