Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, Ray Donovan, The Affair, Enough Said, The Good Shepherd) has recently scored the upcoming Australian drama Penguin Bloom. The film is directed by Glendyn Ivin (The Cry, Safe Harbour) and stars Naomi Watts, Andrew Lincoln and Jacki Weaver. The movie is based on Bradley Trevor Greive’s & Cameron Bloom’s bestseller of the same name and tells the true story of Sam Bloom, whose recovery from a tragic accident is helped when she and her family meet an unusual visitor. Shaun Grant (The Snowtown Murders, The True History of the Kelly Gang) and Harry Cripps (The Dry) wrote the screenplay. Watts is also producing the project with Emma Cooper and Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea (Wild, Big Little Lies), Jodi Matterson (Little Monsters) and Steve Hutensky (The Nightingale). Penguin Bloom will premiere next month at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival.
Zarvos’ other recent projects include #Freerayshawn, which premiered this past April and is now available to stream on Quibi and Marc Meyers’ Human Capital, which was released on VOD earlier this year (and received a brief theatrical release last month).
