Tom Howe (A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Early Man, Professor Marston & the Wonder Women) and Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons have teamed up to score the new Apple TV+ original series Ted Lasso. The show is created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town), Joe Kelly (Detroiters) & Brendan Hunt based on the pre-existing format and characters from NBC Sports and stars Sudeikis himself, alongside Hannah Waddingham, Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein and Nick Mohammed. The comedy revolves around a small-time college football coach from Kansas who gets hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer. Sudeikis & Lawrence are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television production with Jeff Ingold (Rush Hour) and Liza Katzer. Howe has previously co-scored the Lawrence- & Ingold-produced ABC series Whiskey Cavalier with Harry Gregson-Williams. Ted Lasso will premiere on August 14, 2020 on Apple TV+.
Howe’s other recent projects include the Disney Channel movie Upside-Down Magic, which just premiered last week.
