Opening on VOD today is the historical drama Resistance written and directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Ed Harris, Clémence Poésy, Matthias Schweighöfer, Félix Moati, Géza Rohrig, Karl Markovics, Vica Kerekes, Bella Ramsey and Edgar Ramírez. The film’s original music is composed by Angelo Milli (Seven Pounds, Hands of Stone, Bravetown). Filmtrax has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening on VOD today is the sci-fi thriller Vivarium directed by Lorcan Finnegan and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Imogen Poots, Jonathan Aris, Senan Jennings and Eanna Hardwicke. Kristian Eidnes Andersen (Antichrist, Ida, The Man Who Saved the World) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which revolves around a couple’s search for a dream home that plunges them into a terrifying nightmare after they are trapped in a mysterious, labyrinth-like neighborhood of identical houses, is being released by Saban Films.
Another VOD release this weekend is the comedy Banana Split directed by Benjamin Kasulke and starring Hannah Marks (who also co-wrote the screenplay), Liana Liberato, Dylan Sprouse and Addison Riecke. The film’s original music is composed by Annie Hart (Olympic Dreams). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows two teenage girls as they develop the perfect kindred spirit friendship over the course of a summer, with one problem: one of them is dating the other’s ex, is being distributed by Vertical Entertainment.
