Universal Music has released a soundtrack album for the Japanese drama Fukushima 50. The album features the film’s original music composed by Taro Iwashiro (Red Cliff, The Crossing, Memories of Murder, Manhunt) and performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra & The Choristers of the Temple Church. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Fukushima 50 is directed by Wakamatsu Setsuro and stars Koichi Sato and Ken Watanabe. The movie tells the true life story of workers at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant who, over five desperate days, reined in a nuclear disaster that could have caused the evacuation of Tokyo and other country-crippling damage, following the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. The drama is being released in Japanese theaters this weekend. No word yet on a domestic release.
