Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57, The Transporter, Undercover Brother, Romeo Must Die) has been hired to score the upcoming Hulu original series Woke. The show is created by cartoonist Keith Knight & Marshall Todd (Barbershop) and stars Lamorne Morris, Blake Anderson, T. Murph and Lara Goldie. The live-action and animation hybrid is inspired by the life and art of Knight and follows an African-American cartoonist living in San Francisco, who’s finally on the cusp of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything. Knight and Todd are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with showrunner Ayesha Carr, Will Gluck (Peter Rabbit, Easy A) & Richie Schwartz (The McCarthys) will executive produce via Olive Bridge Entertainment along with Eric Christian Olsen & Katie Schumaecker for Cloud Nine Productions. Woke is expected to premiere later this year exclusively on Hulu.
