Composer Stephen James Taylor is reteaming with director Richard Tanne on the upcoming coming-of-age drama Chemical Hearts. The film is written and directed by Tanne and stars Lili Reinhart and Austin Abrams. The movie is based on Krystal Sutherland’s novel Our Chemical Hearts and follows a 17-year-old high school student who has never been in love and focuses of his attention on finally becoming the editor of his high school newspaper until he he meets a transfer student on the first day of his senior year. Tanne is also producing the project with Alex Saks (The Florida Project, Wildlife, Book Club). Taylor (Teacher’s Pet, Timon & Pumbaa, G.I. Joe) has previously collaborated with the director on 2017’s Southside with You. Chemical Hearts will premiere later this year on Amazon Prime.
