The full details of the soundtrack album for the drama The Song of Names have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed, orchestrated and conducted by Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Silence of the Lambs, The Departed, Hugo, The Aviator, The Hobbit). Ray Chen is the featured solo violinist. Also included is the original title song written by Shore, featuring words by Jeffrey Caine and performed by Daniel Mutlu. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 13 by Decca Records (click here to order). A CD version will be coming out the following week and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Song of Names is directed by François Girard and stars Tim Roth, Clive Owen, Catherine McCormack, Jonah Hauer-King, Gerran Howell, Luke Doyle and Misha Handley. The movie follows a man searching for his childhood best friend – a Polish violin prodigy orphaned in the Holocaust – who vanished decades before on the night of his first public performance.
