John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, The Defenders, The Star) has composed the original score for the upcoming Apple TV+ original series Truth Be Told. The show is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and stars Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul, Lizzy Caplan, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Mekhi Phifer, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood and Ron Cephas Jones. The drama follows a podcaster who is compelled to reopen the murder case that made her a national sensation and comes face to face with the man she may have mistakenly helped to put behind bars. Tramble Spellman and Spencer are also executive producing the project with Reese Witherspoon & Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine and Peter Chernin (War for the Planet of the Apes, Oblivion) & Jenno Topping (Hidden Figures, The Greatest Showman) for Chernin Entertainment. Truth Be Told will premiere on December 6, 2019 exclusively on Apple TV+.
Paesano also has the Sky Italia series Devils coming up. The show is based on the best-selling novel by Guido Maria Brera and stars Patrick Dempsey, Alessandro Borghi, Kasia Smutniak, Laia Costa, Malachi Kirby, Pia Mechler, Paul Chowdhry, Harry Michell and Sallie Harmsen. Nick Hurran (Sherlock, Doctor Who) is directing the 10-part series, which is produced by Sky Italia and Lux Vide. The financial thriller will have a premiere screening tonight at Mipcom and is expected to premiere in Italy on Sky Italia later this year. No word yet on a domestic premiere date.
