Composer Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class) is reteaming with Nate Parker on the upcoming drama American Skin. The film is written and directed by Parker who also stars in the film alongside Omari Hardwick, Beau Knapp, Theo Rossi, Shane Paul McGhie and Miluana Jackson. The movie follows marine veteran who takes matters into his own hands after his son is killed by a police officer who is found innocent without standing trial. Tarak Ben Ammar (Femme Fatale, Hannibal Rising) is producing the project for Eagle Pictures,alongside Mark Burg (Saw series, John Q) and Lukas Behnken (Mully). Jackman has previously scored Parker’s feature directorial debut The Birth of a Nation. American Skin will premiere this weekend at the 2019 Venice Film Festival.
Jackman’s other upcoming projects include 21 Bridges (to be released on November 22 by STX Entertainment), the Netflix original movie Dhaka and the thriller Mosul, which will also premiere at the Venice Film Festival and will also be shown at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
