Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix Point Never) is reteaming with directors Benny & Josh Safdie on the upcoming crime dramedy Uncut Gems. The film stars Adam Sandler as a charismatic New York City jeweler who must perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides, in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win. Lakeith Stanfield, Idina Menzel, Judd Hirsch, Eric Bogosian, Pom Klementieff, Kevin Garnett and Julia Fox are co-starring. The Sadfie Brothers also wrote the screenplay. Scott Rudin (The Social Network, No Country for Old Men) and Eli Bush (Annihilation, Eighth Grade) are producing the project with Elara Pictures’ Sebastian Bear-McClard & Oscar Boyson (Heaven Knows What). Lopatin has previously scored the directors’ last feature Good Time. Uncut Gems will premiere in September at the Toronto Film Festival and is set to be released in theater on December 13, 2019 by A24.
