James L. Venable (Scary Movie 3, 4 & 5, EuroTrip, Samurai Jack, The Powerpuff Girls) is returning to score Kevin Smith’s upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The film is written and directed by Smith (Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy) who also stars in the movie alongside Jason Mewes. The comedy follows the title characters as they discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them and decide to embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again. Jordan Monsanto (Yoga Hosers) and Liz Destro (Life of Crime, The Little Hours) are producing the project. Venable has previously scored 2001’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back & 2013’s Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie and also collaborated with Smith on such features as Jersey Girl and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is set to be released in theaters as a Fathom event on October 15 & 17, 2019.
