Composer Guillaume Roussel (3 Days to Kill, Happy!, The Man with the Iron Heart, It Boy, Ransom) is reuniting with director Nick Powell on the upcoming action movie Primal. The film starring Nicolas Cage, Famke Janssen, Kevin Durand, Michael Imperioli and LaMonica Garrett centers on a big-game hunter for zoos who is shipping a white Jaguar from the Amazon back to the States aboard a freighter, along with a political assassin being extradited to the U.S in secret. Richard Leder wrote the screenplay. Luillo Ruiz (Welcome to the Jungle, Speed Kills) and Daniel Grodnik (Powder, The Brawler) are producing the project for The Pimienta Film Company. Roussel has previously collaborated with Powell on the 2014 feature Outcast starring Cage. Primal is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.
As previously reported, Roussel also has the Netflix original series The Spy starring Sacha Baron Cohen coming up.
