Deborah Lurie (Dear John, An Unfinished Life, Footloose, Safe Haven, 9) has recently scored the upcoming comedy Poms. The film is directed by Zara Hayes (The Battle of the Sexes) and stars Diane Keaton, Jacki Weaver, Pam Grier, Celia Weston and Rhea Perlman. The movie follows a woman who moves into a retirement community and starts a cheerleading squad with her fellow residents, proving that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. Shane Atkinson wrote the screenplay. Kelly McCormick (Atomic Blonde), Alex Saks (The Florida Project), Andy Evans, Celyn Jones & Ade Shannon (The Vanishing) and Rose Ganguzza (The Chaperone) are producing the project. Pedro Bromfman was originally scoring the comedy as reported last year. Poms will be released in theaters nationwide on May 10, 2019 by STX Entertainment.
