Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, The Accountant, Fly Away Home) is scoring the upcoming family drama A Dog’s Journey. The film is directed by Gail Mancuso and stars Marg Helgenberger, Betty Gilpin, Henry Lau, Kathryn Prescott, Dennis Quaid, as well as Josh Gad as the voice of the title character. The movie is the sequel to 2017’s A Dog’s Purpose (scored by Rachel Portman) follows dog Bailey as he finds his new destiny and forms an unbreakable bond that will lead him, and the people he loves, to places they never imagined. W. Bruce Cameron & Cathryn Michon (A Dog’s Way Home) and Maya Forbes & Wally Wolodarsky (The Polka King, Infinitely Polar Bear) wrote the screenplay based on the best-selling novel by Cameron. Gavin Polone (Zombieland, Curb Your Enthusiasm) returns as the producer of the Amblin Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment production. Isham is also returning to score the second season of Freeform’s Marvel series Cloak & Dagger. The composer also has John Ridley’s time-travel drama Needle in a Timestack coming up and also composed music for the biopic Bolden, which will be released in select theaters on May 3.
