Siddhartha Khosla is composing the original score for the upcoming Netflix original movie Beats. The film is directed by Chris Robinson (ATL) and stars Anthony Anderson, Uzo Aduba, Khalil Everage, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Paul Walter Hauser and hip hop artists Dave East and Dreezy. The drama revolves around an agoraphobic hip-hop prodigy and a disgraced former music manager cross paths in Chicago’s South Side and help each other face demons of their pasts. Miles Orion Feldsott (Deadly Class) wrote the screenplay. Bob Teitel (Men of Honor, Barbershop), Glendon Palmer (Jumping the Broom) and Christian Sarabia and are producing the project. As announced last year, the movie will also feature both established and rising Chicago based hip-hop producers and artists, including original music from hip-hop producer Young Chop. Beats is currently in post-production and will premiere later this year on Netflix.
Khosla also continues to score NBC’s This Is Us, which currently airs in its third season every Tuesday night and The Kids Are Alright, which airs Tuesday nights on ABC. The composer has also recently scored the second season of Hulu’s Marvel series Runaways, which premiered last month.
