Brian McOmber (It Comes at Night, Krisha, Ugly) is scoring the upcoming indie drama Mickey and the Bear. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Annabelle Attanasio and stars Camila Morrone, James Badge Dale, Calvin Demba, Ben Rosenfield and Rebecca Henderson. The movie follows a teenage girl who has to keep her single, veteran father afloat, navigating his mercurial moods, opioid addiction, and grief over the loss of his wife. Attanasio also wrote the screenplay. Lizzie Shapiro, Mackenzie Berkman, Taylor Shung, Anja Murmann and Sabine Schenk are producing the project. Mickey and the Bear will premiere in March at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival.

McOmber’s other recent projects also include Little Woods starring Tessa Thompson, Lily James & James Badge Dale. The movie premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and will be released on April 19 by Neon. The composer has also composed the music for the documentary Hail Satan? directed by Penny Lane about the rise of The Satanic Temple. The movie just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this week.
