Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Rampage, Journey to the Center of the Earth) is reteaming with director Richie Mehta on the upcoming mini-series Delhi Crime Story. The 7-parter is written and directed by Mehta and stars Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, Gopal Datt and Vinod Sherawat. The drama is based on a. true story and follows the Delhi Police during their investigation of a horrific gang rape of a young woman on a bus in 2012. Aaron Kaplan (The Chi, Life in Pieces), John Penotti (Crazy Rich Asians, Awake), Florence Sloan (Snow Flower and the Secret Fan), Kilian Kerwin, Apoorva Bakshi and Michael Hogan (Ghoul) are executive producing the project. Lockington has previously scored Mehta’s features Siddhart and I’ll Follow You Down. The first two episodes of Delhi Crime Story will premiere next month at the Sundance Film Festival and the full season is expected to air later in 2019.
Lockington has also recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama The Kindness of Strangers. The film is written and directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, One Day) and stars Zoe Kazan, Andrea Riseborough, Bill Nighy, Tahar Rahim, Caleb Landry Jones and Jay Baruche. The movie takes place in the heart of New York City at an opulent Russian restaurant and tells the story of a group of people going through the worst crises of their lives. Malene Blenkov (Backstabbing For Beginners) is producing the project. Mark Korven was originally attached to score the film. The Kindness of Strangers will premiere in February as the opening night film of the 2019 Berlin Film Festival.
