Columbia Records has announced a soundtrack album for Illumination Entertainment’s animated feature Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch. The album features the songs from the movie, including the original song I Am the Grinch written and performed by Tyler, the Creator, as well as songs by Run-DMC, The Supremes, Jackie Wilson, Nat King Cole & more. Also included are two tracks from the movie’s original score composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Nightmare Before Christmas) who also collaborated with Tyler on a new version of You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, which is already available to download here. The soundtrack will be released on November 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Grinch is directed by Scott Mosier & Yarrow Cheney and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. The animated film narrated by Pharrell Williams will be released in theaters nationwide on November 9, 2018 by Universal Pictures.

Well…the score album for Despicable Me 3 was announced nineteen days after the soundtrack album. Maybe we just have to be patient.
