Annie Lennox has recorded the original song Requiem For a Private War for Matthew Heineman’s drama A Private War. The track is also written by Lennox and co-produced by the movie’s composer H. Scott Salinas. The song will be featured on the film’s official soundtrack album, which is set to be released on November 2, 2018 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Lennox has previously co-written the original song Into the West for The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (with Howard Shore & Fran Walsh), for which she was honored with an Academy Award. She also provided vocals for James Horner’s score for Ron Howard’s Apollo 13. A Private War starring Rosamund Pike, Jamie Dornan, Stanley Tucci and Tom Hollander is based on Marie Brenner’s 2012 Vanity Fair story Marie Colvin’s Private War and chronicles the life of the late American-born British war reporter Marie Colvin. The drama will have its world premiere this Friday at the Toronto Film Festival and will be released on November 2 by Aviron Pictures. (Deadline)
