Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Locke, Out of the Furnace) is composing the original score for the upcoming drama Ben Is Back. The film is written and directed by Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life, The Odd Life of Timothy Green) and stars Julia Roberts, Lucas Hedges, Courtney B. Vance and Kathryn Newton. The movie revolves around the unexpected homecoming of a mother’s charming yet troubled prodigal son, which forces her into a situation where she must do all she can to prevent her family’s downfall. Hedges is also producing the with Nina Jacobson (The Hunger Games), Brad Simpson (American Crime Story, Crazy Rich Asians) and Teddy Schwarzman (The Imitation Game, All Is Lost). Ben Is Back will premiere next month at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in theaters on December 7, 2018 by LD Entertainment, Lionsgate & Roadside Attractions.
Hinchliffe’s recent projects also include Debra Granik’s Leave No Trace, which is currently playing in limited release, Idris Elba’s feature directorial debut Yardie, which is coming out in the UK later this month, as well as Andrew Heckler’s Burden, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is currently awaiting a domestic distribution deal.
