Jon Brion has recently composed the music for the upcoming French comedy Sink or Swim (Le grand Bain). The film is directed by actor Gilles Lellouche (The Secret Adventures of Gustave Klopp) and stars Mathieu Amalric, Guillaume Canet, Benoît Poelvoorde and Virginie Efira. The movie follows a group of 40-something guys, all on the verge of a mid-life crisis, who decide to form their local pool’s first ever synchronized swimming team – for men. Lellouche also co-wrote the screenplay with Ahmed Hamidi and Julien Lambroschini. Hugo Sélignac (Blood Ties) and Alain Attal (Tell No One, Polisse) are producing the project. Sink or Swim will premiere later this month at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released in French theaters this fall. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
As previously reported, Brion (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Magnolia, Lady Bird, I Heart Huckabees, Punch-Drunk Love) also has the romantic comedy Isn’t It Romantic? starring Rebel Wilson, Adam Devine & Liam Hemsworth coming up.
