Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Jonathan Demme’s 1991 thriller The Silence of the Lambs starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins and Scott Glenn. The album features the remastered original score from the Academy Award-winning MGM production composed and conducted by Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Hugo, The Aviator, The Departed), including previously unreleased music, as well as alternate cues. The soundtrack is limited to 1000 copies and is now available to pre-order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and check out the full track list.
The label has also released a new soundtrack album for Oliver Stone’s 1986 war drama Platoon starring Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker. The album features the complete original score from the Oscar-winning MGM production composed and conducted by Georges Delerue (Agnes of God, Man, Woman and Child, Twins, Beaches), including previously unreleased music, unused cues and alternate tracks. The CD is also limited to 1000 copies and can be ordered in the label’s online store, where you can check out the full album details.
The label’s other new releases include a release of the expanded and remastered Academy Award-winning original score for the 1970 classic Love Story composed by Francis Lai, as well as an expanded soundtrack for Federico Fellini’s 1973 comedy drama Amarcord featuring music by Nino Rota.
