The full details of the soundtrack album for Joe Wright’s biographical drama Darkest Hour have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Kubo and the Two Strings, V for Vendetta, Paddington 2) who previously scored the director’s Atonement, Pride and Prejudice and Anna Karenina. Vikingur Olafsson is featured as the piano soloist on the composer’s score. The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, November 17 by Deutsche Grammophon. Darkest Hour starring Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane and Ben Mendelsohn follows Winston Churchill as he leads a charge against Adolf Hitler’s army in the early days of World War II.
