Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Silence of the Lambs, The Aviator, Spotlight) has recently scored the upcoming drama The Catcher Was a Spy. The film is directed by Ben Lewin (The Sessions) and stars Paul Rudd, Sienna Miller, Guy Pearce, Paul Giamatti, Jeff Daniels, Mark Strong, Tom Wilkinson, Connie Nielsen and Hiroyuki Sanada. The movie is based on Nicholas Dawidoff’s NYT bestselling book and tells the true story of Moe Berg, the professional baseball player-turned-top secret spy for the O.S.S who helped the U.S. win the race against Germany to build the atomic bomb. Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot) wrote the screenplay. Kevin Frakes & Mark Fasano (American Ultra) are producing the project for PalmStar Media, alongside with Jim Young (The Man Who Knew Infinity) for Animus Films & Tatiana Kelly (The Words) for Serena Films. The Catcher Was a Spy is expected to premiere in 2018.
