Ian Hultquist is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Assassination Nation. The film is written and directed by Sam Robinson (Another Happy Day) and stars Bella Thorne, Maude Apatow, Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale, Colman Domingo, Suki Waterhouse, Odessa Young, and Hari Nef. The movie follows four teenage girls in a small suburb who become the focus of unwanted, worldwide media attention when their personal information is leaked by an anonymous hacker. Matthew Malek (The Ticket) & Anita Gou are producing the project for Foxtail Entertainment, alongside David Goyer (Batman v Superman) for Phantom Four, Kevin Turen (Arbitrage, 99 Homes) and Aaron L. Gilbert (The Birth of a Nation, A Single Shot) for Bron Studios. Assassination Nation is expected to premiere in 2018.
Hultquist (My Blind Brother, Clinical, Animals, First Monday in May) also has the sci-fi drama Miles coming up. The film is written and directed by Miles Daly based on his short film of the same title and follows a 18-year-old boy in a small California town whose life is forever altered by a chance encounter with cutting-edge military technology. Alex Neustaedter, Becky G. and Chloe Bridges are starring in the movie, which is produced by David Goyer and Lakeshore Entertainment’s Tom Rosenberg & Gary Lucchesi (Underworld, The Lincoln Lawyer). A release in 2018 is expected.
