This past week, Harry Gregson-Williams has recorded his score for the upcoming shark thriller Meg. The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure, While You Were Sleeping, Cool Runnings) and stars Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Jessica McNamee, Ruby Rose and Rainn Wilson. he movie is based on Steve Alten’s novel MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror and centers on an international underwater observation program, led by Chinese scientists, that is under attack by an unknown danger with its deep-sea submersible disabled and trapped at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (Transformers series, Salt, RED), Belle Avery and Colin Wilson (War of the Worlds, Troy, Munich) are producing the project. Gregson-Williams recorded his score at Synchron Stage Vienna in Austria. Meg is set to be released on August 10, 2018 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
As previously reported, the composer also has the drama Breath directed by Simon Baker coming up.
