Alex Greenwald is making this feature film scoring debut on Brie Larson’s upcoming directorial debut Unicorn Store. The actress also stars in the movie alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Joan Cusack, Bradley Whitford, Mamoudou Athie, Hamish Linklater, Martha MacIsaac, Karan Soni and Annaleigh Ashford. The movie follows a dreamer reluctant to abandon her childish wonder who is offered something she’s spent her whole life waiting for: her very own unicorn. Samantha McIntyre wrote the screenplay. Larson is also producing the project with David Bernad (Superstore, Magic Magic), Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad), Lynette Howell Taylor (The Accountant, The Place Beyond the Pines), Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas (Grandma, Jane Got a Gun). Greenwald is best known as the lead singer of the rock band Phantom Planet whose song California was used as the main title theme for the Fox series The O.C. Unicorn Store will have its world premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
