Julian Wass has been tapped to score the upcoming indie drama The Miseducation of Cameron Post. The film is directed by Desiree Akhavan (Appropriate Behavior) and stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Sasha Lane, John Gallagher Jr., Forrest Goodluck and Jennifer Ehle. The movie is based on the young adult novel by Emily Danforth and tells the story of a young girl in the 1990s who is forced into a gay-conversion therapy center after she is outed and caught with her best friend. Akhavan also co-wrote the screenplay with Cecilia Frugiuele. Michael B. Clark and Alex Turtletaub (Miss Stevens, People Places Things) are producing the project for Beachside, alongside Frugiuele for Parkville Pictures. No word yet on a premiere date for the movie.
Wass (Hit & Run, The Overnight, Other People) is also scoring the new HBO original series Room 104, which premiered last Friday. The composer also scored the comedy Fun Mom Dinner, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released in select theaters and VOD this weekend.
