Columbia Records will release a soundtrack EP for the documentary Step. The EP features the original end credits song Jump performed by Cynthia Erivo and co-written by Taura Stinson and the film’s composers Raphael Saadiq & Laura Karpman, as well as tracks by Fifth Harmony, Candace Coles, Tate Kobang & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow and will be available to download on Amazon. Step is directed by Amanda Lipitz and featuring Blessin Giraldo, Cori Grainger, Tayla Solomon, Gari McIntyre and Paula Dofat documents the senior year of a girls’ high-school step dance team against the background of inner-city Baltimore. The documentary premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released in select theaters this weekend by Fox Searchlight before expanding nationwide over the next couple of weeks.
