Keegan DeWitt has been tapped to score the upcoming movie musical Hearts Beat Loud. He has also composed four original songs for the movie directed by Brett Haley and starring Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, Ted Danson, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner and Toni Collette. The movie revolves around a father and daughter who form an unlikely songwriting duo in the last summer before she leaves for college. Haley also co-wrote the screenplay with Marc Basch. Houston King (Results), Sam Bisbee (Robot & Frank, Cop Car) and Sam Slater (Drinking Buddies, Adult Beginners) are producing the project. DeWitt has previously scored Haley’s last two features, I’ll See You in My Dreams and The Hero. Hearts Beat Loud will start shooting next month in New York. A premiere date in 2018 is expected. Among DeWitt’s other recent projects is the drama The Incredible Jessica James, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will premiere this Friday on Netflix, as well as the thriller Gemini, which premiered at the 2017 SXSW Film Festival and was picked up by Neon for domestic distribution.
