Mark Kilian has recently composed the music for the upcoming action thriller S.M.A.R.T. Chase. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Charles Martin (Marcella, Skins) and stars Orlando Bloom, Lei Wu and Simon Yam. The movie revolves around a a washed-up private security agent who gets ambushed as he attempts to escort a pricey Chinese antique out of Shanghai. Kevin Bernhardt (Peaceful Warrior, Elephant White) wrote the screenplay. Ben Pugh (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Welcome to the Punch) and Wei Han (The King’s Daughter) are producing the Bliss Media production. S.M.A.R.T. Chase will be released in China this September. No word yet on a domestic release date.
As previously reported, Kilian (Tsotsi, Rendition, Pitch Perfect, Eye in the Sky) also has John Poque’s Blood Brother coming up. The composer’s other upcoming projects also include the sci-fi thriller Replicas directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (writer of The Day After Tomorrow) and starring Keanu Reeves, Alice Eve, Thomas Middleditch and John Ortiz. The movie follows a scientist who, after a car accident kills his family, becomes obsessed with bringing them back to life. Chad St. John (London Has Fallen) wrote the screenplay. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, Salt, RED) and Stephen Hamel (Passengers) are producing the project with Reeves, Mark Gao (The Transporter Refueled, The Warrior’s Gate) and Luis Riefkohl. Kilian has previously scored Nachmanoff’s last feature, Traitor. No word yet on a release date for Replicas.
