Nathan Barr is currently scoring the upcoming indie drama The Parting Glass. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actor Stephen Moyer and stars Anna Paquin, Denis O’Hare, Ed Asner, Cynthia Nixon, Melissa Leo, Rhys Ifans and Paul Gross. The movie follows a family reeling with their sister’s death as they embark on a journey to collect the remnants of her life. O’Hare also wrote the screenplay. Paquin and Moyer are also producing the project for CASM Films, alongside O’Hare, as well as Cerise Hallam (I Could Never Be Your Woman, Free Ride) and Mark Larkin. Barr has previously scored all episodes of HBO’s True Blood, which starred both Moyer and Paquin. The Parting Glass is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.
Barr’s recent projects also include the fifth and final season of FX’s The Americans, which currently airs Tuesday nights, AMC’s The Son, which currently airs Saturday nights and has recently been renewed for a second season, as well as Amazon’s Sneaky Pete, which is also coming back for a second season. The composer has also scored the upcoming feature thriller The Domestics. The film is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson and stars Kate Bosworth, Tyler Hoechlin and Lance Reddick. The movie takes place in a futuristic wasteland when a young couple travels through a harrowing, gang-ravaged countryside in an attempt to make it home. Gianni Nunnari (The Departed, 300, From Dusk Till Dawn) and Shannon Gaulding (StartUp) are producing the MGM production. No release date has been announced yet for the thriller.
