Michael Andrews is set to compose the original score for the upcoming comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2. The film is directed by Sean Anders (Horrible Bosses 2, Sex Drive) and stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini and John Cena in their roles from the original movie. They are joined by new additions Mel Gibson and John Lithgow. The movie follows Brad and Dusty as they must deal with their intrusive fathers during the holidays. Anders wrote the screenplay with John Morris (We’re the Millers, Hot Tub Time Machine). Morris is also producing the project with Ferrell, Adam McKay & Chris Henchy (The Big Short, Anchorman, Talladega Nights) and Kevin Messick. Andrews previously scored the 2015 original movie. Daddy’s Home 2 is set to be released on November 10, 2017 by Paramount Pictures
Andrews’ recent projects also include the comedy The Big Sick, which will be released in select theaters on June 23, 2017 before expanding nationwide in July. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score next month.
