Raf Keunen is reuniting with director Michael Roskam (The Drop) on the upcoming crime drama Racer and the Jailbird. The film starring Matthias Schoenaerts and Adèle Exarchopoulos is set against the background of a brutal crime gang in Brussels and centers on a gangster who meets and falls for a young racing driver with very upper-class roots. Roskam also wrote the screenplay with Thomas Bidegain (A Prophet, Rust and Bone) and Noé Debré (Dheepan). Bart Van Langendonck (The Ardennes) is producing the project for Savage Film, alongside Pierre-Ange Le Pogam (Hitman, Grace of Monaco) for Stone Angels. Keunen has previously scored Roskam’s first feature, Bullhead. Racer and the Jailbird is expected to premiere at one of the major film festivals this year. Neon has recently picked up domestic distribution rights for the movie.
