Will Blair and Brooke Blair have been tapped to score the upcoming indie thriller Sweet Virginia. The film is directed by Jamie Dagg (River) and stars Jon Bernthal, Christopher Abbott, Imogen Poots, Rosemarie DeWitt and Odessa Young. The movie follows a former rodeo star who unknowingly starts a rapport with a young man who is responsible for all of the violence that has suddenly gripped his small town. Ben and Paul China wrote the Black List-honored screenplay. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, The Signal) is producing the project for Automatik Entertainment, with Chris Ferguson (Air) for Oddfellows Entertainment and Fernando Loureiro & Roberto Vasconcellos for Exhibit. Sweet Virginia is currently in post-production and expected to premiere later in 2017.
The Blair Brothers (Green Room, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore) have also scored the indie comedy Small Crimes, which will premiere later this month at the SXSW Film Festival. They also have the documentary Batman & Bill and the drama The Scent of Rain and Lightning coming up. The composers are also scoring the upcoming action thriller Wheelman written and directed by Jeremy Rush and starring Frank Grillo, Garret Dillahunt and Caitlin Carmichael. The movie revolves around a getaway driver who is thrust into a high stakes race for survival after a bank robbery goes terribly wrong. Joe Carnahan (Narc, The A-Team, Smokin’ Aces) is producing the film with Grillo and Myles Nestel (Laggies) for The Solution Entertainment Group. The movie is expected to premiere later this year on Netflix.
