Ryan Miller is composing the original music for the upcoming indie comedy Mr. Roosevelt. The film is written and directed by comedian Noël Wells who also stars in the movie, alongside Nick Thune, Britt Lower, Daniella Pineda, Andre Hyland, Doug Benson, Armen Weitzman and Sergio Cilli. The movie revolves around a struggling comedian who returns to her college town of Austin, Texas and must come to terms with her past while staying with her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend. Chris Ohlson (Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter) and Beachside Films’ Michael B. Clark & Alex Turtletaub (Miss Stevens, People Places Things) are producing the project. Miller who is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of Guster has previously scored Beachside’s documentary Tig. His other scoring credits include Safety Not Guaranteed, In a World…, The Kings of Summer and The Fundamentals of Caring. Mr. Roosevelt will premiere next month at the SXSW Film Festival.
