Walt Disney Records announced today that Josh Groban has recorded the original Evermore for Disney’s upcoming live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The song, which is performed in the movie by the Beast (Dan Stevens) after he releases Belle (Emma Watson) to be with her father, is written by Academy Award winners Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Enchanted) and lyricist Tim Rice (The Lion King, Evita). The version performed by Groban appears in the movie’s end credits. As previously reported, Celine Dion has also recorded an original song written by the songwriters. All songs from the movie, as well as Menken’s original score will be included on the soundtrack album, which will be released on March 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order here (regular edition) and here (deluxe edition). Beauty and the Beast directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Audra McDonald and Emma Thompson will be released in theaters on March 17 by Walt Disney Pictures.
