Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for The Bad News Bears trilogy. The 3-CD set features the score from the original 1976 sports comedy directed by Michael Ritchie and starring Walter Matthau & Tatum O’Neal composed by Academy Award nominee Jerry Fielding (The Wild Bunch, Escape from Alcatraz, The Gambler), the music from the 1977 sequel The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training composed by Craig Safan (The Last Starfighter, Cheers) and the score for 1978’s The Bad News Bears Go to Japan composed by Paul Chihara (China Beach, Death Race 2000). The soundtrack is now available for pre-order on the label’s website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples.
The label’s other new releases include a remastered reissue of Ennio Morricone‘s score for Le due stagione della vita, a 2CD-set of Riz Ortolani‘s score for Fantasma d’amore (Ghost of Love) starring Marcello Mastroianni & Romy Schneider and a soundtrack for the Spanish romantic adventure El faro de las orcas featuring music by Pascal Gaigne.
