Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the original score for Walt Disney Pictures’ 2003 feature The Haunted Mansion directed by Rob Minkoff and starring Eddie Murphy, Terence Stamp, Wallace Shawn, Marsha Thomason and Jennifer Tilly. The album features the film’s music composed by Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Speed, Brother Bear, Con Air, Bad Boys, Moana). The 2-CD set includes the complete score, as well as unused alternates and additional cues. Only one track from the composer’s score has previously been released and was featured on the original 2003 soundtrack album. My gosh, what a classic score Intrada is releasing! With a lot of movies that could get an expanded release by people like Horner, Williams and Goldsmith, they decide to release a 2 CD (!!!) version of this legendary score from the great Mark Mancina for this award-winning movie that, these days, absolutetly no one even cares that it exists.
Well, I DO care about it! One of Mancina´s best efforts IMHO…
The movie absolutely sucked. There is seriously no denying that. However, the score is absolutely one of Mancina’s best, and in my opinion, is one of Disney’s best live action scores.
I am so happy to hear this. Loved the movie (despite Eddie Murphy) and loved the music even more. Good to see that it’s finally avaliable for the public. Best soundtrack ever made for me.
