Andrew Hewitt has been tapped to score the upcoming comedic thriller A Crooked Somebody. The film is directed by Trevor White (Jamesy Boy) and stars Rich Sommer, Ed Harris, Amanda Crew, Amy Madigan, Clifton Collins Jr. and Joanne Froggatt. The movie follows an attention-seeking psychic who is kidnapped and tries to use the situation to boost his popularity. Andrew Zilch has written the screenplay. White is also producing the project with Tim White (LBJ) for Star Thrower Entertainment. Hewitt previously scored this year’s The Good Neighbor for the producers. A Crooked Somebody is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2017.
Hewitt (Submarine, The Stanford Prison Experiment, The Double) also has the British comedy Old Boys coming up. The film is directed by Toby MacDonald and stars Alex Lawther, Pauline Étienne, Jonah Hauer-King, Denis Ménochet and Joshua McGuire. The movie is inspired by Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac story and follows an awkward but imaginative pupil who helps the handsome but spectacularly dim school-hero pursue the daughter of a visiting French teacher. Luke Ponte and Freddy Syborn (The Bad Education Movie) have written the script and Luke Morris is producing the project. A release in 2017 is expected.
